HAMILTON, ON — After nearly three years of community consultation, planning, and advocacy, the second phase of the Gage Park Renewal project officially broke ground this week, marking one of the largest investments in Ward 14 public green space in over a generation.

The project will transform the southern half of Gage Park with an accessible splash pad, improved pathways, restored horticultural gardens, and new multi-purpose sports courts.

What's Being Built

  • A fully accessible spray splash pad replacing the aging wading pool.
  • New asphalt pathways designed to meet modern accessibility standards.
  • Restoration of formal gardens, lighting improvements, benches, and waste stations.
  • Two new pickleball courts and upgrades to existing recreation amenities.
This is what happens when a community speaks up and a council listens. Gage Park belongs to every Ward 14 family, and today we are investing in it like it does.

Timeline & What to Expect

Construction is expected to run through the summer and fall, with sections of the park remaining open where work zones allow. Residents can expect regular project updates as milestones are reached.
